Football or soccer is the most popular sport in the world. What is the second popular one? Baseball? Rugby? No, it's cricket. Cricket is the second-most popular sport in the world. 

Cricket began in England, so it is popular in the former British Commonwealth. Top players can gain fame and money. Some of them in India and Pakistan have developed political careers. 

I didn't know much about cricket and its popularity. Even TIME magazine called an Indian popular player Tendulkar "The God of Cricket,” and said he was “the world’s most famous sportsman” and “the world’s best athlete.”
