Kanji and History

Korean government has banned Kanji or Chinese character since 1970's. That was because their anti Japan policy, no other reasons there. Before that, Korean intelligent people wrote and read official documents and history books in kanji. Hangul or Korean script was mainly used by people who could not use kanji then. The government allows only hangul now.
As a result, contemporary Korean people can not read old history books. That means they can not study their own history by old history books. The true history has gone with kanji. That is really sad.
