Audiobooks 300 days

I began to listen to audiobooks in English 304 days ago. At that time, I listened to English news with Tuneinradio app every day. 

Since then, I listened 19 titles. I even tried to listen some titles several times. I really enjoy audiobooks now. I would be very happy if the prices were little bit lower. 

English radio news and audiobooks help improving my listening ability. But I feel lack of my vocabulary. It depends on my effort.

Weekly Newspaper

I have a subscription to The New York Times Weekly Review.  The newspaper is only 8 pages long, but I couldn't read through whole articles yet. 

I'm trying to read every articles. If I had a lots of vocabulary, it woul be easy. I should build up my vocabulary more. I have to use dictionary more often.

Studying for Eiken

I checked my Eiken exam result. It made me disappointed. Of course, I'm the one to blame. 

I'll continue to enjoy reading and listening to things in English, but I have to do more in order to get Eiken 1st grade. The first thing I have to do is building vocabulary. I don't like using word books, but I shouldn't say that.

Electric Dictionary

For getting more English vocabularies, which is efficient, using word books or dictionaries? 

Some English teacher said on his blog that reading English books with dictionaries is the best way for vocabulary building. That is because a dictionary can describe various definitions of a word so that you can select suitable image of the word in the sentences. On the other hand, word books have only a limited defining for a word. 

I think that's a good way for getting new words, but it might take quite a time. So for time efficiency, an electric dictionary is needed. It's time for buy it, isn't it?

One Month to Go

I'll take Eiken Pre-1st test next month. I really think I'm behind on vocabulary building. There are still lots of unfamiliar words in Eiken Pre-1st work books. These words might be super basic words for English speaking people. I couldn't read English magazines and news articles without getting any stress unless I memorize whole worlds in Eiken Pre-1st work books, or maybe 1st grade words.

Vocabulary Building

I feel uncomfortable to my poor vocabulary in English. I thought only I had to do was to guess the meanings when I met unfamiliar words. I didn't have any problems at first, but now I understand how important vocabulary building is. Because of lack of vocabulary, I can't understand exact information in English articles and books so often. 

To expand my vocabulary, I'll use knowledge of roots, prefixes and suffixes. It a never ending journey but I believe it worth to do.
