Men's Table Tennis Gets Silver

Japan faced China at the 2016 Rio Olympics men's table tennis team final. Japanese players performed well, but they couldn't beat China this time. 

At the second match, Japan's Jun Mizutani defeated the World No. 2 Xu Xin for the first time. That was a bright side of the match. I believe Japan will defeat China in the near future.

Japan Men's Table Tennis Goes to Final

Japan men's table tennis team has reached to the final for the first time at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Japan couldn't win against Germany for a lond time, but they did it at last. 

Japan will face China at the final. China is very strong team. They has Rio Olympics individual gold and silver medalists. It would be reall hard to beat China, but I hope Japan upsets China this time.

Protect Japanese Territory

About 230 Chinese boats including some military equipped coast vessels sailed near Japanese-controlled water in the East China Sea. The incident occurred near the Senkaku Islands. They are administered by Japan but also claimed by China. 

Japan should protect these islands more firmly, otherwise China would land there near the future. They won't hesitate to do that.

Philippines Wins Against China

China has claimed almost all of the South China Sea, including reefs and islands also claimed by Philippines and other countries. But, the Parliament Court of Atbitration denyed China's claim on the territory. 

The arbitration said there were no historical evidence of China's territorial right. The court also said that China had caused "severe harm to the coral reef environment" by building artificial islands. 

This judge wouldn't directory influence China's behavior on the water, but it would be a diplomatic pressure on China.

China Defeats Japan

Chinese men's and women's table tennis teams completely defeated Japan at the finals of the World Table Tennis Team Championships in Malaysia. China was too strong through the competition. No player could win over Chinese players. 

Japanese men's and women's teams both got the second place in this tournaments. Women's team has advanced to the final two times in a row. On the other hand, men's advanced to the final for the first time in 39 years. They performed well, but China was far more stronger than any other countries. 

How many years would be needed to defeat Chinese table tennis team? It seems impossible for now, but I believe Japan would be the first one to do that.

A Land Slide Disaster in China

GA huge pile of construction wast collapsed and hit on buildings in Shenzhen, China. Under the landslide, more than 80 people were missing, said Chinese media. 

I watched the incident on TV. The pile of waste was so big and that was almost a mountain. It looked like a massive natural disaster, but it was a man-made disaster. The city has been growing rapidly. The waste came from subway construction sites in the city.

China and Taiwan Talks

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Taiwan's President Ma Ying-jeou talked in Singapore for the first time since the two countries had separated in 1949. In that year, 1949, in the Kuomintang lost to the Chinese Communist Party in the civil war and set up a new government in Taiwan.

This talk would be good for Chinese communist government, but what's the benefits for Taiwanese? In fact, many Taiwanese have been against the talk. 

President Ma's Kuomintang Party is losing its power and said to be lost the next presidential election. This Ma's action have simply ruined the will of Taiwanese people, haven't it?

One Child Policy to End

China's one child policy will end because of growing elderly population. The government will allow two children for a couple. 

The one child policy started in the late 70s for suppressing growing population. Due to the policy, their working age population, aged 15 to 59, could fall by around 7% from 2010 to 2030. Even after changing the policy, the working population would not increase any time soon. 

I don't want to live in a totalitarian country like China. The people there can not live what they want.

US Destroyer Cruises Disputed Water

U.S. military sent a guided missile destroyer into disputed area, the South China Sea. This would be a President Obama's warning to China. Chinese government has been building military facilities on the landfill reefs where only China claims as their own territories. 

The Obama's decision was too late to suppress Chinese desire for expanding their territories for the water. I can't understand his slow action for the controversial Chinese activities of the South China Sea. Vietnam and other nations were trying to prevent the China's behavior, but the president didn't do anything for it. 

It's important to put pressure on China over territorial matters. Otherwise, they will continue to expand their territories by the power.

China's New Political Rules

Chinese Communist Party has made strict rules for their members. For example, the party has banned extravagant eating and drinking, engaging in improper sexual relationships with others and playing golf. The new rules are everywhere in their activities. 

I don't think they can obey every rules because theses are against natural human desires. More over, Chinese political members have huge power to do so, and it's hard to resist them. 

The rules may work for excluding political enemies of President Xi and his allies.

The UK and China

British PM David Cameron and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a press conference in London. 

Both leaders expressed a strong relationship with the two nations. After their statements, they let one question for each country's media. The BBC reporter bravely asked a question. 

"Prime Minister, if you were a steelworker who had lost their job yesterday, at the same time as seeing President Xi being ferried down Whitehall in a golden carriage, how would you have felt? Is there any price that’s worth paying in order to further our business interests with China? 

And President Xi, why do you think members of the British public should be pleased to do more business with a country that is not democratic, is not transparent, and has a deeply, deeply troubling attitude towards human rights?" 

The two leaders' answers were, in short, money first.

President Xi's Visit to Britain

The UK has super welcomed Chinese President Xi Jingping while some people protested against China's oppression on Tibet. Britain seems to want Chinese investment to the country. 

China is about to build a nuclear plant in the UK. How come Britain wants to make a deep relationship with China? Is the economy in the UK so weak that they have to depend on China's money?

Analyzing the Photos of Nanjing Massacre

I bought a book about an analyzing the photographic evidence of Nanjing Massacre. The researchers studied 143 pictures used for evidence of the Nanjing Massacre, but every single one were not proper for the evidence. 

The authors traced the origin of the pictures. Some photos were taken in other places like Shanghai. Some pictures were made up of two or three materials. 

Of course, showing the proof of improper photograph evidence is not simply a denial of the massacre, but how could anyone kill 300,000 people in a city that held only 200,000 citizens?

The Chinese leader Chiang Kai-shek, who had escaped from Nanking just before the attack by the Japanese military. He never mentioned the incident to the Chinese people until the end of the war.

Nanjing Massacre?

UNESCO will list Chinese documents on the "Nanjing Massacre" to the Memory of the World heritage". Off course Japanese government has been against the nomination because the so called Naning Massacre was a totally fiction story. No one can believe that about 300,000 people in the city were killed in a short period of the time and there have been no clue for the incident.  More over, it first appeared at Tokyo Trials and before the trials, no one insisted on the incident.  

There are many studies for the massacre, but every researches can not find any evidence of the incident. I'm so frustrated with it. Japanese government and foreign ministry should protest it more strongly.

China's Power Balance

This week, TIME magazine issued Chinese Military Parade. In the picture of the article, President Xi looked unhappy for me. Only Russia's President Vladimir Putin attended the parade from the main World War 2 Allies and that made Xi depressed? Or he overwhelmed to control Chinese military power? I'm not sure. 

A historian said in the article, if the Communist Party losses power, it will have lost power forever. Xi knows the fact, so he has to handle their military very carefully for survival. In my opinion, Xi stands on the dangerous balance between The Communist Party and the military. No one knows when it will collapse into chaos.

What Are You Doing, Mr. Ban?

China held its huge military demonstration parade on 3rd September.  The event was called the 70th anniversary of the victory over Japan. At the time World War 2  ended, current communist party ruling China did not exist, though. Most major western countries did not go to the event. The absence was part of because that was apparently an anti Japan event, so they did not want to join the military show. That's normal. 

On the other hand, only South Korean president from western advanced countries went to see the parade. That's okay. The president might hate our country and wanted to obey Chinese government, but one thing I could not understand was the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon's attendance. He should keep a neutral stance in politics. That's what his position must be. 

Obviously, he might want to be the next Korean president, so he wanted to show his anti Japan policy to Korean citizens because taking that stance could make him the president more easily. But he should do his own business. There are plenty of things he has to do as the U.N. Secretary General, if only he wanted to do. What do you think of that?

Chinese Military Parade

China held a huge military parade for, they said, 70th anniversary of victory over Japan. More than 30 countries attended the event, but major western countries did not come to the parade. 

The parade looked strictly organized. If I were the participant, I would die while practicing for the parade.

Tianjing Explosions Have Killed Over 100

Explosions in chemical facilities area in Tianjing, China have killed over 100 people and more than 90 people have been still missing. 

I looked some pictures about firefighters there. They looked in very poor conditions. Chinese government should ask help for other countries if they can't handle it, but like other cases, they never do that. I just pray for the residents and firefighters.

East Turkestan

East Turkestan is the homeland of the Turkic speaking Uyghurs and located in the Central Asia, next to Kazakhstan, Afghanistan and Pakistan. The area is famous for the Silk Road where Eastern and Western culture were interacted, and now called "Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region" in China. 

East Turkestan has its long history and was an independent country. But in 1949, the Chinese People's Liberation Army troops marched into the area and the country was forced to join China. 

After the annexation, the area became the test site of nuclear weapons. More than 45 nuclear tests were held and the radioactivities had killed a large number of people there. Moreover, the Chinese government set "Family Planning" rule and under the law, millions of women are forced to get abortion. East Turkistan people have been suffering severe oppression of Chinese government for a long time. Many countries know the facts, but they, including Japan, can't claim the violation of human rights because they are afraid of Chinese government.

China's Market Meltdown

Chinese share prices have been decreasing since mid June. Shanghai market has lost a third of value in three weeks. 

According to some articles, China's stock prices are too expensive to be the real values. Chinese government is trying to recover from the meltdown, so they ordered to stop share training in the market. 

Some wise investors apparently got a huge amount of money from Chinese market. On the other hand, so many people have lost their money. 

There were many examples of stock market crushes in the history. I have to say "History repeats itself."
