Torii

A torii is a gate found at the entrance of a Shinto shrine. Some of them are made of wood and others are made of stone. The inside of a torii is a sacred space where Shinto gods are believed to exist.

I was quite surprised that these gates are called "Torii gates" and the word was on the English dictionary. :O Cool stuff!
